Aelita is a 12-year-old girl who was trapped on a virtual world called Lyoko for 10 years of her life by her father. So, technically, she’s 22, but age wasn’t a factor where she came from. She has the maturity level and vocabulary of a young woman as well. She’s not very familiar with the real world, so she tends to make mistakes about normal things, mostly those that involve her senses of taste and smell – there wasn’t anything to eat on Lyoko. The virtual world was ruled by a virus called X.A.N.A. who perpetually tried to kill her in order to gain the ‘key’ to unlock itself from its supercomputer prison. Aelita is a very sweet girl who can have a bit of a temper when she gets mad. She doesn’t tolerate people who bully and pick on her friends, and usually ends up outsmarting while at the same time insulting whoever was being mean. She was set free from Lyoko by a bunch of middle-school students named Jeremie, Ulrich, Yumi, and Odd. They’re her best friends, and she is continually trying to find ways to repay them for helping her. She has no memory of her life before she was released from Lyoko and has naturally bright pink hair. Aelita is also amazingly smart - she likes to re-wire and work with computers. So, she’s a freshman in High School.
